Vision & Mission

The vision and mission of Delhi School of Journalism (DSJ), University of Delhi is to identify and nurture aspiring journalists, enable them to become a driving force for a quality driven public sphere and information economy and thereby promote democracy and development in the truest sense.

Delhi School of Journalism (DSJ) is oriented towards creating a mechanism of training that can impart theoretical perspectives, technical skills and professional ethics of service. It is focused on nurturing a pool of minds that can gather and transmit information without adulteration and strengthen the democratic processes and the governance systems of the country. The institution aims to instill a sense of responsibility into the personal and professional conduct of the students in order to preserve the culture of peace, development and order in society and in developing and enriching the discipline of journalism through inter-disciplinary modules, innovative pedagogical techniques, and integration of critical insights into the teaching, learning and professional schemes.

Heartfelt congratulations to Team Chaupal for their outstanding performance at the Arun Jaitley Memorial Debate 2.0 held at SRCC on April 10, 2025. Kudos to Harsh Jha (4th semester) and Harshit Bhatia (6th semester) for winning Best Team in the Conventional Debate, with Harshit Bhatia also bagging the Best Speaker award.

DSJ proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of Debate Society "Chaupal" at the All-India Shri Nandlal Gadiya Memorial Debate - 2025, held at Mewar University, Rajasthan (Feb 28 - March 1, 2025). 🥇 Chirag Jha (5th Year) & Harsh Jha (2nd Year) secured 1st Position (Hindi Debate). 🏅 Deepanshu Jha (3rd Year) & Yash Vardhan Singh (2nd Year) won a Consolation Prize (English Debate). Each of DSJ's 8-member team performed exceptionally well, showcasing great skill and dedication:

Dronacharya the Sports Society of DSJ and its Table Tennis Team delivered a stellar performance in a match against Delhi College of Arts & Commerce, University of Delhi at the Multipurpose Hall, DU. With an impressive 3-0 victory, DSJ sports team showcased exceptional skill and determination. Kshitij 2nd year, secured a dominant 3-0 win. Parth 1st year, displayed remarkable control, winning 3-0. Kosh 1st year, fought hard and sealed the match with a 3-1 victory.

On April 2, 2025, the Delhi School of Journalism (DSJ) organized the second edition of the Swami Vivekananda Memorial National Debate, welcoming 45 teams from across the country. The event was held at the historic Convention Hall, Vice Regal Lodge, University of Delhi. The debate centered around the theme “One Nation, One Election”, fostering insightful discussions among participants. A highlight of the event was a special address by BJP National General Secretary, Mr. Sunil Bansal, who shared his perspectives on the feasibility and implications of simultaneous elections in India. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, contributing to a vibrant exchange of ideas on a topic of national significance.
